Leão Flirts with Barcelona and Sparks Speculation About His Future with Milan
Friday 17-04-2026
The name of the Portuguese star Rafael Leão has resurfaced at the forefront within the corridors of FC Barcelona, amid press reports suggesting the possibility of the Catalan club moving to sign him during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo.'

According to the same source, the Milan winger is considered one of the names that have been on Barcelona's management radar for a while, as they previously considered signing him after the Nico Williams deal fell through. However, complications in the deal prevented serious steps at that time, with the situation potentially changing during the next transfer market.

The report indicated that Leão is close to leaving Milan after seven seasons with the team, despite being contracted until 2028. This is due to his strained relationship with his coach Massimiliano Allegri, which has led to a diminished role within the team, turning him into a substitute option in most matches.

The Spanish newspaper added that the player increased speculation after his recent hint on his Instagram account, where he posted a picture from the documentary of Brazilian legend Ronaldinho during one of the El Clasico matches, accompanied by the phrase 'the best,' interpreted as a message of admiration for FC Barcelona.

The report explained that Leão is open to the idea of moving to Barcelona, while Milan does not oppose selling him. However, completing the deal still depends on several factors, most notably Barcelona's stance on signing Marcus Rashford, who occupies the same position, especially given his high cost and lack of a fixed place in the starting lineup, making the final decision yet to be made.
