Thursday 16-04-2026
Al-Karma Club held its press conference for the anticipated match against Al-Shurta tomorrow at Al-Karma Stadium, as part of the 29th round of the Iraqi Stars League. Coach Issam Hamad and midfielder Moamen Abdul Redha confirmed the team's readiness both physically and technically, emphasizing that Al-Karma will enter the match with its usual offensive character without any calculations or fear of the opponent's name.

Al-Karma's head coach Issam Hamad began his speech by praising his opponent Al-Shurta, while affirming that his team does not fear any opponent this season: 'Al-Shurta is a big club with history and championships, and we respect their coach Moamen Suleiman and their players. But here at Al-Karma, we play on our home ground and among our fans, and we are experiencing our best technical periods after defeating Al-Najaf with a clean 3-0 score.'

Hamad added: 'We do not fear big names. Since the beginning of the season, we have been playing with our character and offensive style against all teams, whether they are competing for the title or fighting relegation. Tomorrow we have 90 minutes in which we will fight for every ball, and we want to prove that our sixth place with 50 points did not come by chance.'

Issam Hamad concluded by talking about the home ground and fans' advantage: 'Al-Karma Stadium will be full, and our fans are the 12th player. We promise them they will see a team fighting from the first to the last minute. The three points are our goal, and if we continue with the same spirit we showed against Al-Najaf, we will be very close to achieving it.'

For his part, Al-Karma midfielder Moamen Abdul Redha confirmed that the group is ready to deliver a big match against the second-placed team. He said: 'The team's atmosphere is excellent, and the morale is high after the last victory. We know that Al-Shurta is wounded after their loss to Al-Zawraa and will enter to compensate, but we also have our ambitions and want to topple the league's runner-up on our field.'

Abdul Redha added: 'We have played against big teams this season and presented outstanding levels. The secret is in tactical commitment and collective spirit. Coach Issam Hamad has given us confidence, and as players, we feel we can match any team. Tomorrow is a real test for us, and we will prove that Al-Karma is no longer a small team.'

He continued: 'My message to Al-Karma fans: attend in large numbers and support us from the first minute. Your presence gives us double motivation. Our stadium and fans are our weapon against Al-Shurta, and hopefully, we will celebrate together at the end of the match.'

Al-Karma enters the match elated and in sixth place with 50 points, aspiring to achieve a significant moral victory over Al-Shurta, who holds the second place with 59 points. A win for Al-Karma will bring them closer to the top four teams, while any stumble for Al-Shurta could officially end their hopes of competing for the Iraqi Stars League title.
