The Italian club Inter Milan has begun its efforts to sign Argentine Diego Simeone, the head coach of the Spanish club Atletico Madrid, as the club seeks new managerial leadership in the upcoming period.

According to "Foot Mercato," Inter Milan's management is prepared to part ways with their current coach, Cristian Chivu, if they can persuade Simeone to take over the role, as the Argentine coach is the Italian club's top choice.

The report indicated that some members of Inter Milan's management have already contacted Simeone to explore the possibility of signing him in the coming period, as an initial step to gauge his stance on leaving Atlético Madrid.

Simeone, who is 55 years old, has a contract with Atlético Madrid that extends until June 30, 2027, which is the end of the next season. This makes the issue of his departure still undecided.

The report also clarified that Simeone's position on leaving Atlético Madrid remains unclear, especially since he has been coaching the team since 2011.

It is worth mentioning that Diego Simeone previously played for Inter Milan between 1997 and 1999, during which he succeeded in winning the UEFA Cup with the team.
