Spanish player Lamine Yamal, from FC Barcelona, sent an emotional message to the Catalan team's fans following their exit from the UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona exited the competition despite their 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the quarter-finals, as the Rojiblancos secured qualification thanks to their aggregate advantage of 3-2 over both legs.

Lamine Yamal said on his official Instagram account: "We gave it our all, but it wasn't enough. This is just the beginning of the journey. To reach the top, we must climb, and we know it won't be easy, nor will they make it easy for us, but giving up is not an option."

He added, "We have many reasons to be enthusiastic, and we will strive to achieve them with all our strength. Every mistake is a lesson we learn, and you can be sure that we will benefit from every lesson."

He concluded: "We are Barcelona, and we will return to our rightful place. My parents taught me that a man's word is a promise that should not be broken, and we will embody that in Barcelona."
