Iran Moves to Ensure the Protection of Its Players in the World Cup
Monday 13-04-2026
The President of the Iranian Football Federation, Mehdi Taj, held an important meeting with the national team's coach, Amir Ghalenoei, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ahmad Danialmali, to discuss the latest developments regarding the team's participation in the 2026 World Cup, given the current circumstances.

According to reports, the Iranian federation intends to submit an official request to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) to obtain additional guarantees ensuring the protection of the national team's delegation during the tournament, both inside and outside the stadiums.

This step comes as a precautionary measure to avoid the recurrence of any threat, at a time when FIFA continues to adhere to its regulatory decisions by refusing to move some of Iran's national team matches from the United States to Mexico, which increases the sensitivity of the situation for the Iranian side.
