The management of AS Roma is moving towards activating the option to purchase the contract of Dutch striker Donyell Malen from Aston Villa for 25 million euros, in order to convert the loan into a permanent deal at the end of the current season.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Roma will activate the purchase clause regardless of conditions related to participation rate or European qualification, given the strong conviction in the level of performance the player is delivering.

Malin joined Roma during the winter transfer window on loan and quickly managed to prove himself remarkably, scoring 10 goals in 12 matches in the Italian league.

The Dutch striker's contract with Roma will extend until 2030 if the deal is officially completed, amid expectations that he will be one of the key pillars in the team's project in the coming seasons.
