Aliou Cissé, the head coach of the Libyan national team, officially announced his departure from his position, despite his contract extending until 2027, in a surprising move that ended his journey with the "Mediterranean Knights."

Cissé's decision came amid reports indicating a delay in his financial dues for several months, which is likely one of the main reasons that prompted him to decide to leave the leadership of the Libyan national team.

The Senegalese coach confirmed on his Instagram account that the training camp last March was his last with the national team, noting that the experience was remarkable on both professional and personal levels, despite the challenges he faced during the past period.

Cissé sent a message of thanks to the coaching staff and players, expressing his pride in the work and results achieved, and affirming his confidence in the team's ability to continue developing in the upcoming phase.

The former Libya coach concluded his statements by thanking the fans for their support, affirming that he will not forget this experience, and wishing the team success in the future, after a period that began in March 2025, succeeding coach Nasser Al-Hadhiri.
