Milan Star Returns to Barcelona Negotiation Table
Wednesday 08-04-2026
The name of Portuguese Rafael Leão has resurfaced on the table of FC Barcelona, amid the possibility of his departure from Milan during the upcoming summer transfer window, and at a much lower value than his release clause, according to what was revealed by the Spanish newspaper 'Sport'.

Barcelona had tried to sign Leão two years ago, after Nico Williams decided to stay at Athletic Bilbao, but the deal fell through at the time due to Milan's high financial demands, which exceeded 100 million euros, which did not align with the Catalan club's economic situation.

According to 'Sport', Leão is currently experiencing a complicated situation at Milan, due to his disagreement with coach Massimiliano Allegri, along with his decline in form during the season, prompting the Italian club to consider selling him and benefiting financially from his departure.

The report indicated that Milan is ready to listen to offers approaching 50 million euros, despite the release clause in the player's contract reaching 170 million euros, after renewing his contract until 2028.

Although the player has been offered to several clubs, including Barcelona, the Catalan club has not moved yet, as Leão is not among its current priorities, especially amid the evaluation of Marcus Rashford's future, whether by retaining him through the activation of the purchase option or moving towards signing a young player in the left-wing position.

Barcelona tends to delay its final decision until the end of the season, while Leão's name remains present as an available option, without being part of the main plans so far.
