Wednesday 08-04-2026
Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin spoke to the press after the 2-1 loss against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, in a match held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

The Ukrainian goalkeeper said, "We could have scored more goals. The team responded well. We attacked a lot, and we are still in the competition."

He added, "Loss? There is always room for improvement."

He emphasized, "It would have been better if we had scored, or at least drawn. That's what happened. We need to focus on the league and then the return match. It will be tougher, but we believe in our abilities. It's the Champions League quarter-finals, and it was never going to be an easy match. We will do our utmost there."

Regarding the match strategy: "We knew that sometimes we would have to defend with a medium or low defensive block. We wanted to maintain possession of the ball and control the match."

He concluded about the second leg match: "We have to score goals and not concede any."
