Failure of the Friendly Match Between Egypt and Bosnia Before the World Cup
Sunday 05-04-2026
The negotiations that took place in recent days between the Egyptian Football Association and its counterpart in Bosnia and Herzegovina failed to organize a friendly match between the two national teams as part of the preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

The Egyptian national team was seeking to play a friendly match against a European team participating in the World Cup. They entered into talks with the Bosnia team to arrange the match before traveling to the tournament.

According to sources, the idea of holding the match at the New Administrative Capital Stadium was proposed. However, the Bosnian team insisted on playing the match on their home ground before heading to the United States, which was rejected by the Egyptian federation.

This disagreement led to the permanent halt of negotiations, resulting in the cancellation of the idea of holding the match between the two parties.

The Egyptian national team is preparing to participate in the 2026 World Cup finals, scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They are placed in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand, in a strong challenge awaiting the Pharaohs during the tournament.
