Filing an Official Complaint Against Barcelona for Sports Corruption
Spanish journalist Juan Luis Martin de Pozuelo Genes filed an official complaint with the Ethics Committee of the Spanish Football Federation, accusing FC Barcelona of sports corruption in connection with the famous Negreira case.
The complaint aims to activate the sports disciplinary process within the Spanish Football Federation and calls for considering the possibility of imposing sports sanctions on FC Barcelona if violations related to the case are proven.
According to the complaint, Barcelona is accused of paying about 1.4 million euros to a company owned by Negreira during the period from 2001 to 2018, during which he held the position of Vice President of the Referees Committee.
The accusations suggest that these payments were intended to implement actions that would influence referees' decisions in favor of the Catalan team, which could have affected the results of some local competitions during those years.
According to sources, the same complaint will be submitted to the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), as well as the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
