Rüdiger Nears Decision on His Future with Real Madrid
Tuesday 31-03-2026
German defender Antonio Rüdiger continues to deliver strong performances with Real Madrid, bringing him closer to renewing his contract in the coming period, despite no official negotiations having started yet, according to press reports.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'AS', Rüdiger's recent physical and technical performance has strengthened his position within the club, especially after overcoming injury issues and returning to his usual form, which aligns with Real Madrid's policy of maintaining the highest levels of readiness without exceptions.

The newspaper indicates that any potential agreement to renew the contract would be for only one season, due to the club's policy with players over thirty years old, particularly since the player is 33 years old and his contract ends at the end of the current season, with a final decision to be made at the end of the season.

In terms of participation, Rüdiger has become a key element in the team's lineup, having started in 9 of the last 11 matches since returning from injury, delivering consistent performances with almost full participation in minutes, in addition to scoring a goal during this period.

The Spanish newspaper also explained that the player suffered from an issue with his left knee due to fluid accumulation after matches, before undergoing treatment in London that helped eliminate this problem, which reflected in his improved physical condition and significantly increased maximum speed on the field.

With Real Madrid planning to bolster its defense line during the upcoming transfer period, especially with the imminent departure of David Alaba, Rüdiger's continuation will help reduce the need for additional reinforcements, as the club will then be satisfied with signing only one replacement.

The report confirmed that the coming months will be crucial in determining the player's future, especially after his improved status within the team, making him closer than ever to renewing his contract and continuing with Real Madrid.
