A Strong Boost for Barcelona Before Facing Atletico Madrid
Tuesday 31-03-2026
Barcelona resumed their training this morning at the Joan Gamper Sports City, with Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde participating in the group exercises, while coach Hans Flick continues to prepare the main team for the match against Atletico Madrid in the Spanish League next Saturday at the Metropolitano Stadium at 9 PM Cairo time.

Koundé and Baldé continue their recovery program to catch up for the match, while Frenkie de Jong continues his exercises in the gym. It seems he will continue recovering from his injury in the lower biceps of his right leg, delaying his return to group participation.

The training session saw the participation of only seven first-team players: Wojciech Szczesny, Gerard Martin, Marc Casado, Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde, Alejandro Balde, and Gavi. Meanwhile, reserve team players Alvaro Cortes and Tommy Marquez were called up to compensate for the absence of key players.

The fourteen international players are expected to gradually return to team training, with Raphinha being given a few days of rest by the club. Spaniards Koubarsi, Pedri, Fermin, Olmo, Lamine Yamal, Ferran, and Juan Garcia will participate in today's match against Egypt, while Polish player Lewandowski will play with his country in the playoff qualifiers against Sweden, with Rony Bardghji absent.
