Shobier Attacks the African Nations League System
The media personality Ahmed Shobeir criticized the African Nations League system, asserting that the system is unfair to North African teams.
In a radio statement, Shobeir said: "The geographical division system is unfair, and Egypt is close to Sudan or Ethiopia, while the distance between Egypt and Morocco is 5 hours."
He added: "The Egyptian national team plays against Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, and Libya, and with Mauritania, things become difficult, and I see that the system is tough."
He explained: "Will the African Nations League succeed? It is questionable because the European Nations League did not achieve the desired success, and the focus remains on the European Championship, which is the same situation in Africa."
Shobeir concluded his statements: "CAF wants to compensate for the absence of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held every four years, following the same system used in Europe. The decision was issued by FIFA due to complaints from European clubs about the absence of their players because of the tournament."
