Barcelona Trio Nearing Return to Team Participation
Monday 30-03-2026
After a few days of rest, FC Barcelona returned to training this Monday at the Joan Gamper Sports City, according to the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," amidst the absence of international players who are with their national teams around the world. However, Alejandro Balde, Jules Koundé, and Frenkie de Jong are nearing the completion of their recovery programs.

It seems that full-backs Balde and Kounde have a good chance of being ready before the tough match on Saturday at the Metropolitano Stadium, providing strong support for the team in the full-back positions. Meanwhile, the participation of Dutch midfielder De Jong appears to be more complicated.

Balde and Kounde's injuries occurred against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. Balde sustained an injury to the distal biceps femoris of the left thigh, while Kounde suffered an injury to the middle part of the biceps femoris of the left thigh. As for De Jong, he sustained an injury to the distal biceps of the right leg during training on February 26th.

On the other hand, Raphinha is expected to arrive in Barcelona soon for necessary examinations and to determine a treatment plan, after injuring his right hamstring while playing for the Brazilian national team. He is anticipated to be out for five weeks.

The Danish player Andreas Christensen remains the other injured player on the team, with about a month left before his return, after suffering a partial tear in the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee at the end of last December.
