The summer transfer window, the most important of the season, is set to open in three months, and it seems that FC Barcelona has already identified its main targets, with the name of 26-year-old Alessandro Bastoni being considered as the ideal reinforcement for the defense. This interest is in the initial stages typical for any deal of this magnitude.

On the other hand, news is circulating in Italy about Inter Milan's interest in one of Barcelona's current players, in the context of what is known as the Bastoni deal.

Such operations are usually characterized by multiple scenarios, and in the traditions of Italian football, all available options are explored. The "Calcio Mercato" platform confirmed, while monitoring and analyzing Barcelona's interest in Bastoni, that there are players from Barcelona's current squad who are admired by Inter Milan. These players are Dani Olmo and Ferran Torres, the former for his personality as a talented attacking midfielder, and the latter for his movement that allows him to occupy any position in the team's forward line.

Sources indicated that Inter Milan will not allow Bastoni to leave unless for an amount close to 80 million euros, which is far beyond what Barcelona planned. Therefore, the names of Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo are being proposed as alternative options to facilitate reaching an agreement that satisfies all parties.

According to reports, Olmo is particularly admired by Inter, but he is focused on continuing with Barcelona, where he returned in 2024 to fulfill his dream of playing for the club he grew up in. His contract extends until 2030, while Ferran Torres' contract runs until 2027. So far, no official negotiations have been conducted to renew his contract, despite it nearing expiration in 15 months.
