He added: "The Iraqi national team regained its readiness in a good manner after arrival. The coaching staff is working with us intensively to reach the best technical and physical condition before the anticipated meeting, and all preparations are currently focused on this pivotal stage and how to manage it to snatch victory by any possible means."

Karrar described the playoff confrontation as a "historic opportunity" for Iraqi football after many years of waiting.
