Official Move by Al-Ahly to Reschedule the Al-Duhail Match
Friday 27-03-2026
Al-Ahly club management is moving swiftly towards the Asian Football Confederation, aiming to reconsider the timing of their anticipated match against Qatar's Al-Duhail in the AFC Champions League for the elite.

This step comes after setting the meeting date for April 13 at 5:45 PM at the Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, a timing that the management considers unsuitable.

Al-Ahly's management believes that the timing of the match does not serve the team from a technical standpoint and may also affect the attendance, given the fans' desire to support the team during this crucial encounter.

The management is seeking to reach an agreement with the continental federation to adjust the schedule in a way that suits the team's circumstances and ensures a better atmosphere for the match both technically and in terms of fan engagement.

In a related context, the Asian Football Confederation recently conducted the draw for the knockout stages, which determined the path for the teams up to the final match in the continental tournament.

The winner of the match between Al Ahly and Al Duhail is expected to face the Malaysian team Johor Darul Ta'zim in the quarter-finals, scheduled to take place on April 17.

This match holds great importance for Al-Ahli, who is looking to continue their journey towards the title, benefiting from the home advantage and the support of their fans in Jeddah.
