Atletico Madrid once again expressed its anger and public criticism against Real Madrid, describing what it called "unequal treatment" by the refereeing authorities and the disciplinary committee in Spanish football, following the decision regarding Real Madrid player Federico Valverde after the recent derby match between the two teams.

In a social media post, Atletico mocked the penalty imposed by the Disciplinary Committee on Valverde, which was limited to a one-match suspension following his expulsion in the game, saying: "Congratulations, you are the best at this... Mission accomplished: one match for Valverde."

The club sarcastically added that fans can "rest assured that the color of the jersey and media noise do not affect sports justice decisions... same committee, same referee report, different standards."

These criticisms come in the context of a series of messages that Atlético believes reveal a bias in refereeing and sports authorities in favor of Real Madrid, especially in the events of direct confrontations between them.

It is worth mentioning that the match between the two teams in the Spanish League ended with a 3-2 victory for Real Madrid in the Madrid Derby. The game saw Valverde being sent off and Vinicius Junior shining with two goals, but it sparked widespread refereeing controversy among Atletico fans.
