Thursday 26-03-2026
Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya secured a narrow victory over Al-Karkh with a single goal this evening at the International City Stadium in Baghdad, as part of the 24th round of the Iraqi Stars League, maintaining the Falcons' top position and continuing their positive results streak, in a match characterized by competitiveness and tactical discipline from both sides.

The match showed a clear advantage for Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in terms of pressure and ball possession, as the home team imposed their rhythm from the first minutes, trying to rotate play and open spaces on the flanks.

On the other hand, Al-Karkh held firm in the first half and managed to end it with a goalless draw, relying on defensive organization and counterattacks, closing internal lanes and depending on numerical density in the final third.

In the second half, the pace increased and attempts multiplied, specifically at the 78th minute when Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya defender Ruslan Hanoun received a direct red card, leaving the Falcons to complete the remaining minutes with ten players, increasing the challenge for coach Rashid Jaber's squad.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya finally scored in the 83rd minute through Daniel Gibola, giving the lead to the Falcons' squad after a long struggle against an organized defense and a vigilant goalkeeper.

With this victory, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya raised their tally to 58 points in first place, continuing their winning streak and affirming the team's character in managing crucial minutes even in the toughest conditions.

Conversely, Al-Karkh's tally froze at 38 points in eighth place, after a respectable defensive performance that was not enough to earn a point against the leaders.
