Al Ahly Considers Return of Akram Tawfik
A source within Al Ahly of Egypt revealed the club's stance on the possibility of bringing back former midfielder Akram Tawfik, who is currently playing for Al Shamal in Qatar, in the upcoming period.
According to what was reported by "Youm7" newspaper, the source confirmed that discussions about the player's return are still premature, noting that the management will open the file on several former players after the current season ends.
He explained that the return of Akram Tawfik remains possible if there is a technical need for his services, which may prompt the club to enter negotiations to sign him again.
This potential move comes as Al Ahly seeks to strengthen the right-back position following Omar Kamal Abdel Wahid's departure to Ceramica Cleopatra, in addition to the coaching staff's lack of confidence in Ahmed Eid's performance.
Akram Tawfik left Al Ahly in the summer of 2025, heading to Al Shamal in Qatar, where he is under contract until June 2028. This means his return depends on an agreement between the two clubs in the upcoming period.
