Potential Fiery Encounter Between Al Hilal and Al Ahli in the Asian Elite Semi-Finals
Wednesday 25-03-2026
The draw for the final stages of the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League for the elite resulted in an exciting scenario, as it set up a potential semi-final clash between Saudi clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli, should they advance from the previous rounds.

The draw ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur, where the path of the teams up to the final match was determined.

The postponed Round of 16 is scheduled to take place as a single-match format in the city of Jeddah on April 13 and 14, following the recent decision to postpone.

The winner of the match between Al Hilal and Qatar's Al Sadd will face Japan's Vissel Kobe in the quarter-finals, while the team that advances from the Al Ahly and Qatar's Al Duhail encounter will meet Malaysia's Johor Darul Ta'zim.

If Al-Hilal and Al-Ahli succeed in overcoming their opponents, the tournament will witness an anticipated Saudi Clasico in the semifinals to determine one of the finalists, in a match carrying a sense of revenge, especially after Al-Hilal recently prevailed over Al-Ahli in the King's Cup.
