Consecutive Injuries Hit Saudi National Team Defense Before Friendly with Egypt
Tuesday 24-03-2026
The Saudi national team is facing new challenges ahead of its anticipated friendly match against Egypt, as several of its players have sustained injuries during the current training camp in Jeddah.

The training sessions witnessed the absence of defender Hassan Tambakti for the second consecutive day, as he continues his treatment program due to a thigh muscle injury.

The absence of full-back Zakaria Hawsawi from training sessions has been confirmed after he experienced knee pain, casting doubt on his participation in the upcoming match.

In a swift move to make up for the shortage, French coach Hervé Renard decided to call up defender Ali Lajami, who joined the camp coming from the "B" team.

"The 'Green' team continues its daily preparations, with its next training session taking place at the auxiliary field of King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah."

The Saudi national team is preparing to face its Egyptian counterpart on March 27, before traveling to meet Serbia on the 31st of the same month.

These matches are part of the preparation plan for the 2026 World Cup, as the coaching staff strives to achieve the best possible readiness.
