Barcelona Escapes Paying 3 Million Euros in Koundé Case
Monday 23-03-2026
The Spanish newspaper 'Sport' reported that the civil division of the Barcelona court rejected the lawsuit filed by the players' agent Tutumlu against FC Barcelona, in which he demanded 3 million euros for his alleged role in Koundé's transfer from Sevilla to the Catalan club in the summer of 2022.

Tutumlu claimed that he played a crucial role in completing the deal, which was valued at a minimum of 50 million euros, in addition to 5 million euros in variables, preventing Koundé's move to Chelsea, noting that he did not receive any payment for his mediation.

In his lawsuit, the agent presented emails and conversations with Ramon Planes, the former technical secretary of Barcelona, Mateu Alemany, the football director, Ramon Rodriguez from Sevilla, and even Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, to prove his involvement in the deal.

However, the court found that there was no implicit acceptance or explicit agreement from Barcelona on Tutumlu's involvement in the deal, leading to the dismissal of the lawsuit.

Tutumlu stated that he would appeal the ruling, asserting that the court ignored the evidence he presented, including messages with the parties involved that demonstrate his role, as well as inconsistencies in the testimonies of some witnesses presented by Barcelona.
