Lewandowski Confirms No Final Decision on His Future with Barcelona
Monday 23-03-2026
The Polish striker Robert Lewandowski confirmed that he has not yet made any decision regarding his future with Barcelona. He stated in a press conference before the World Cup qualifying playoff match against Albania: "I took my time to think about what is best for me and I have not made any decision yet."

Lewandowski's contract with the Catalan club ends on June 30, 2026. The player has recently shown improved performance after scoring a brace against Newcastle in the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16, despite not scoring in the last match against Rayo Vallecano, which ended with a 1-0 victory for Barcelona.

Regarding playing with the protective mask he has been using for about a month, Lewandowski explained: "It's not comfortable, but I have no choice but to adapt to it. I have adjusted part of the mask over the fracture site to make playing easier, and I will continue to use it for another two weeks... As for headers, I no longer feel afraid."

He also spoke about penalty shootouts, saying: "Some are better at taking them, and when you feel a lack of playing time or rhythm, it's better to choose what's best for the team."

Regarding his international future with the Polish national team, he stated: "I haven't made any decision yet. I will give myself time for that, and it might not happen soon. When I feel the time is right, I will definitely announce it."

Lewandowski's statement reflects his caution in taking any decisive steps in his career, whether at the club level or with the national team.
