Vinicius Junior Nears Contract Renewal with Real Madrid
Monday 23-03-2026
Press reports revealed that Brazilian star Vinicius Junior is close to renewing his contract with Real Madrid, amid improved relations with the club's management and his return to form.

Vinicius recently returned to delivering the performance he showed during 2024, when he was one of the leading contenders for the Ballon d'Or, before it eventually went to Rodrigo Hernandez.

The player went through a difficult period, especially after the departure of coach Carlo Ancelotti and his initial lack of harmony with the new coaching staff led by Xabi Alonso, which raised doubts about his future with the team.

However, this phase seems to have ended, as understanding has returned between the player and the club. This is evident in his improved performance in recent matches, along with a positive atmosphere in the ongoing negotiations regarding the extension of his contract, which expires in the summer of 2027.

Vinicius received continuous support from the club president, Florentino Perez, who held firm in his belief in Vinicius's abilities despite the criticisms, considering the restoration of his best form a primary goal within the club.

The current coaching staff, led by Álvaro Arbeloa, also played a role in restoring the player's confidence by giving him a larger role within the team and ending the notion of frequently substituting him.

Real Madrid's management now sees Vinicius as a crucial element in their sports project, making the extension of his contract a priority in the upcoming phase, reflecting both parties' desire to continue their relationship.
