Monday 23-03-2026
Real Madrid clinched the capital derby against Atletico Madrid with a 3-2 victory in the match held at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, as part of the 29th round of the Spanish League "La Liga".

After this victory, Real Madrid increased their tally to 69 points, securing second place and trailing Barcelona, who are in the lead, by 4 points. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid's tally remained at 57 points, placing them in fourth.

Atletico Madrid opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through Ademola Lookman, following a well-organized attack that began with a cross reaching Diego Simeone, who set it up in front of the goal, allowing Lookman to easily slot it into the net.

At the start of the second half, Real Madrid returned to the match atmosphere, with Vinicius Junior equalizing in the 52nd minute from a penalty kick, before Fede Valverde added the second goal just three minutes later, capitalizing on a defensive error by the Rojiblancos players.

Atletico did not give up, as Nahuel Molina managed to score the equalizer in the 67th minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area. However, Real Madrid responded quickly through Vinicius, who came back to score his second personal goal and the third for his team in the 72nd minute with an impressive shot.

Real Madrid's task became more complicated in the final minutes after Valverde was sent off in the 77th minute following a tackle from behind, a decision that sparked protests from the team's players who felt the punishment was harsh. The minutes passed, and the match ended with a victory for Real Madrid.
