Sunday 22-03-2026
Manchester City's goalkeeper James Trafford appeared in a press statement following the victory in the English League Cup against Arsenal with a 2-0 win, in the final held on Sunday evening.

The goalkeeper said in his interview: "Your saves? Certainly, they were fantastic saves, especially since they happened early in the match, but I don't remember them well because they were so quick. However, I'm very happy with my contribution to the victory. Then Nico scored two goals, which is a great achievement from him."

He added: "This moment means a lot to me. Four or five years ago, when they beat Tottenham to win the title, I think I was the fourth or fifth choice, and I always imagined that I would win it one day. It's truly a great season because all my family and friends are here, and it means a lot to me, as I am far away from northwest Cumbria."

Regarding his participation as a starter in the final match: "Yes, his confidence in me means a lot, and this is a testament to my self-confidence and my performance in training when I was participating in the club's matches." Every time I play, I give it my all."

Regarding the competition with Gianluigi Donnarumma: "There's no room for illusion, it was never easy. It was extremely difficult at times, but I'm fortunate to have a great team around me. My teammates and coaches have been amazing. They constantly encouraged me and gave me individual goals. The credit goes to them."
