Brazilian media reports have revealed serious moves by Manchester United to strengthen their midfield. The "UOL" network reported that representatives of the English club held an exploratory meeting with the agents of Brazilian star Bruno Guimarães, a Newcastle United player.

The journalist specialized in the transfer market, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the accuracy of this news, indicating that the meeting took place in the past few weeks, in a clear sign of the Red Devils' interest in signing the international player.

Despite this initial contact, Romano clarified that the situation is still far from advanced negotiations or any formal agreement, emphasizing that there is still a long way to go before reaching decisive steps in the deal.

These moves come as Manchester United's management and coaching staff continue to explore various available options to determine the main target for strengthening the midfield during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The shortlist includes other names proposed as alternatives, most notably the Italian Sandro Tonali, alongside other players like Elliot Anderson and Carlos Baleba, in anticipation of any potential setbacks in the Guimarães deal.
