Sunday 22-03-2026
Akram Tawfik, the former Al Ahly player who is currently playing for the Qatari team Al Shamal, commented on Al Ahly's exit from the CAF Champions League.

Al Ahly lost to Tunisia's Esperance with a score of 3-2 yesterday, Saturday, in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, after having lost the first leg in Tunisia with a score of 1-0, resulting in the team's exit from the tournament.

Akram Tawfik was keen to support Al Ahly, as he said on Instagram: "King of Africa," accompanied by an image of the club's logo with an emoji reflecting strength, clearly indicating his pride in his former affiliation.

This gesture from Tawfiq, despite his departure from the Red Castle, confirms his continued connection to the club and its fans, at a time when the team is going through difficult circumstances following the recent continental setback.
