Esperance Coach: Happy with the Win and We'll Start Working on Upcoming Matches Tomorrow
Patrice Beaumelle, the coach of Tunisian club Espérance, confirmed that he is pleased with his team's victory over Al Ahly and their qualification for the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
Esperance defeated Al Ahly with a score of 3-2 in the second leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, allowing the Tunisian team to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Boumel said in statements during the press conference after the match: "I am happy with the victory and the result, and there is great joy among the players, management, and certainly the fans in Tunisia."
He continued: "We will celebrate today and starting tomorrow we will begin preparing for the upcoming matches."
He continued: "My talk with the players after the first half was to get back into the game, and we scored 4 goals. My message was that Al Ahly is a big team and would not want to lose, so I wanted to motivate the players to return to the match once again."
Regarding the match against Sundowns in the semi-finals, he said: "They are a great team, and we are currently among the top four on the continent. The first leg ended with a significant score, which confirms they are a great team, but what the team showed today assures me that we will perform well in the semi-finals."
Regarding Jlassi and Shiloh, he said: "They were outstanding, and I consider Jlassi a hero because he played while injured. Starting tomorrow, there will be a step towards a new match."
