Journalist David Ornstein revealed that Manchester United is close to reaching an agreement to renew the contracts of the duo Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire, in a move aimed at securing the team's future in the coming years.

According to the report, the club is close to finalizing an agreement with Mainoo, which involves extending the 20-year-old midfielder's contract until the summer of 2031, with a significant improvement in his financial terms, in recognition of his impressive development and growing role within the first team.

On the other hand, Manchester United offered veteran defender Maguire a new one-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional year, as the club wishes to retain his experience in the dressing room.

Despite significant progress in the negotiations, Ornstein indicated that some details are still under discussion, but the talks are moving in a positive direction, bringing both parties closer to reaching a final agreement in the near future.
