Borussia Dortmund Considers Bringing Back Sancho
Friday 20-03-2026
The German club Borussia Dortmund is considering the possibility of bringing back the English winger Jadon Sancho to its ranks once again, in what could be his third return to the team, as his contract with Manchester United nears its end.

Sancho had his best period in a Dortmund jersey between 2017 and 2021, before moving to Manchester United, where he faced significant challenges in establishing himself within the English team.

The player is currently on loan with Aston Villa, having previously returned to Dortmund on loan in 2024. According to the German newspaper "Sport Bild," the German club's management is already discussing the possibility of signing the player, who may become a free agent next July.

Sancho has not delivered the expected performance this season with Aston Villa, as he has only provided one assist in 18 Premier League matches, raising doubts about his current form.

Concerns are growing within Dortmund due to the disciplinary issues the player experienced during his time with Manchester United, which may not align with the strict style of coach Niko Kovac.

In this context, journalist Ben Jacobs indicated that Sancho is open to the idea of returning to Dortmund and is even willing to reduce his salary to complete the deal.

For its part, Manchester United does not plan to activate the option to extend the player's contract for an additional year, aiming to demand a fee upon his sale. The club appears ready to let him leave for free as part of its strategy to restructure the team and get rid of elements that do not fit into its future plans.
