The Spanish club Real Madrid has resumed monitoring Newcastle United midfielder, Bruno Guimarães, as the club seeks to strengthen its midfield following the potential departure of Eduardo Camavinga, posing a new obstacle for Manchester United, which was ahead in negotiations, according to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo'.

Manchester United was seeking to sign the Newcastle captain for about 80 million euros, as an option to replace the departing Casemiro, who recommended Guimarães as his ideal successor due to his experience and leadership on the field. The negotiations between the player and the English club were advanced, but the sudden interest from Real Madrid has significantly complicated matters.

Real Madrid's interest in Guimarães dates back to the contract of coach Carlo Ancelotti, who recommended him three years ago as a successor to Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the midfield. The player was close to joining the club in the summer of 2022 before Newcastle made an offer of around 50 million euros to buy him from Lyon, paving his way to the Premier League.

The same source confirmed that Real Madrid is currently closely monitoring Guimarães, with the support of Ancelotti, who currently oversees him in the Brazilian national team, considering the player as the perfect solution to enhance the royal team's midfield next season, especially after the potential departure of Camavinga.
