Polish star Robert Lewandowski continues to make history in the UEFA Champions League after scoring a new goal during Barcelona's big win over Newcastle, achieving an unprecedented record in the continental competition.

The Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' reported that the 37-year-old Lewandowski has become the player with the most goals against different teams in the history of the Champions League, having increased his victims to 41 teams, including Barcelona itself, bringing his total goals in the tournament to 110.

According to the newspaper, the Polish striker surpassed both Lionel Messi, who scored against 40 teams, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted against 38 teams in the same competition.

Mundo Deportivo pointed out that Lewandowski has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 36 matches this season, raising his total with Barcelona to 117 goals, despite recent criticism due to a decline in his scoring effectiveness at certain times.

The newspaper added that Lewandowski's list of victims is topped by clubs such as Benfica with 9 goals and Red Star with 7 goals, along with Real Madrid and Salzburg with 6 goals each, in addition to other teams against which he has scored varying numbers of goals.

The report explained that Lewandowski's goal-scoring journey in the Champions League began on October 19, 2011, when he scored his first goal against Olympiacos wearing Borussia Dortmund's jersey, making the Greek team his first victim in the tournament.

Since then, the Polish star continued to shine in Bayern Munich's jersey between 2014 and 2022, winning the Champions League title in the 2019/2020 season after scoring 15 goals, before moving to Barcelona in 2022 and continuing to set impressive records.

The report confirmed that Lewandowski has raised his tally to 23 goals with Barcelona in the Champions League, ranking fourth in the club's all-time scorers list in the tournament, behind Lionel Messi with 120 goals, Rivaldo with 25 goals, and Luis Suarez with 25 goals.
