Wednesday 18-03-2026
Pierre Sage, the head coach of the French team Lens, revealed his club's desire to retain the services of Saud Abdulhamid, who is on loan from Italian club Roma until the end of the current season.

During the introductory press conference for the match against Angers in the 27th round of the French league, Saj clarified that the future of the Saudi player has become a topic of discussion within the club, with the end of his loan period approaching and a clause allowing for the permanent purchase of his contract.

The Lens coach noted that Saud Abdulhamid's level has seen significant improvement since joining, as he participated regularly and succeeded in proving his ability to compete in the right-back position, especially during Ruben Aguilar's absence, which provided the coaching staff with multiple options upon the latter's return.

Saj confirmed that the French club is seriously considering activating the purchase clause, although the final decision remains dependent on the stance of his original club, Roma.

Saud Abdulhamid played 23 matches for Lens this season across various competitions, during which he scored two goals and provided four assists, affirming his strong presence in his professional experience in Europe.
