Real Madrid achieved a deserved 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, in the match held on Wednesday evening at the Etihad Stadium.

The first leg had ended with a 3-0 victory for Real Madrid, and they will face the winner of the Bayern Munich vs. Atalanta match in the quarter-finals.

Manchester City suffered an early blow after Bernardo Silva was sent off with a red card in the 20th minute following a handball penalty decision against him, before Vinicius scored the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute.

In the 41st minute, Manchester City equalized after a cross from inside the penalty area reached Haaland, who easily placed the ball into Thibaut Courtois' net.

In the 63rd minute, Manchester City scored a second goal, but it was disallowed for offside. Then Ryan Aït-Nouri scored another goal for City in the 77th minute, but it was also disallowed for offside.

Real Madrid scored through Valverde in the 81st minute, but it was disallowed due to an offside on Vinicius before the goal. Vinicius also scored in the 90+2 minute, but it was disallowed for offside, before he scored a legitimate goal in the 90+3 minute after a cross from Tchouaméni.
