Al-Ittihad Targets Local Trio to Strengthen the Team in Summer
Monday 16-03-2026
The management of the Saudi Union is considering strengthening the team's lineup during the upcoming summer transfer window by signing several local players to support the positions that need reinforcement before the new season begins.

Reports revealed that the club has put three names on its list of interests, led by Othman Al-Othman, the winger from Al-Fateh Saudi club, in addition to Rakan Kaabi, the midfielder from Al-Fayha Saudi club.

The federation is also monitoring the situation of full-back Fares Abedi, a player for Saudi club Neom, as part of the search for elements capable of supporting the team in the upcoming phase.

The information indicated that the union's management has also set alternative options in case the negotiations with the three currently proposed names do not succeed.

Abedi is tied to a long-term contract with Neom Club that extends until 2029, while Othman and Kaabi are nearing the end of their contracts after entering the free agency period, which gives them the right to sign with any club without returning to their current clubs.

The club's management is focusing on strengthening three key positions during the summer, including left-back, central midfielder, and winger.

This move comes after Al-Ittihad's recent loss to Al-Riyadh with a score of 3-1 in the 26th round of the Saudi Professional League.
