Abdulrahman Al-Bishi, the former Al-Nassr player, passed away after a long battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, which he had suffered from in recent years, causing the Saudi sports community to lose one of its former stars.

The news of Al-Bishi's death caused a wave of sadness among Saudi football players and fans, with many athletes and supporters keen to mourn him with heartfelt words on social media platforms.

The late player's struggle with the illness began in 2019, as the disease caused damage to the nerve cells responsible for movement, before his health condition gradually deteriorated during his treatment journey.

Al-Bishi began his football career with the Saudi club Al-Nassr in 1996, before being promoted to the first team in 2000. He became known by the nickname "The Apache" due to his great speed and distinctive technical skills. He also represented the Saudi national football team in the 2004 Asian Cup.

Al-Bishi left Al-Nassr in 2009, then moved to Sdoos Club before announcing his retirement from football in the 2011 season.

On its part, Al-Nassr Club mourned its former player through its official account on Platform X, saying: "With deep sorrow and sadness, we extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy on the passing of former player Captain Abdulrahman Al-Bishi."
