Spanish striker Ferran Torres is preparing to face a special challenge when Barcelona faces Sevilla this Sunday evening, as part of the Spanish League competition, in a match that might see his return to the starting lineup of the Catalan team.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Marca', coach Hans Flick plans to make several changes to the starting lineup due to the fatigue some players are experiencing after the significant effort they exerted in the recent match against Newcastle, in addition to preparing for the return match in the UEFA Champions League.

In this context, Ferran Torres is expected to get the opportunity to start in the match that will be held at Spotify Camp Nou, especially since he did not start the team's last match at St. James' Park.

The Spanish striker faces a notable challenge against the Andalusian team, as the Spanish newspaper 'Marca' points out that Torres has never scored against Sevilla throughout his career with Barcelona. He has faced the Andalusian team ten times in the Spanish League wearing the Catalan club's jersey, achieving seven victories and one draw against two losses, without scoring any goals or providing any decisive passes.

The player is also going through a series of nine consecutive matches without scoring, comprising five matches in the Spanish League, three matches in the Copa del Rey, and one match in the UEFA Champions League, with his last goal scored in the match between Barcelona and Elche on January 31st.

Despite this series, Ferran Torres remains one of Barcelona's top scorers this season, having scored 16 goals, including 12 in the Spanish League competition.

For his part, Hans Flick confirmed during the press conference held before the Sevilla match that he is not worried about the decline in the scoring rate of both Ferran Torres and Robert Lewandowski.
