Atlético Madrid secured an important victory over their guest Getafe with a 1-0 win in the match between the two teams as part of the 28th round of the Spanish League at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Atletico entered the match strongly and succeeded in opening the scoring early, as Argentine defender Nahuel Molina scored the only goal of the match in the eighth minute, giving the home team an early advantage in the score.

Getafe's task of getting back into the match became more complicated after they were forced to play with ten men from the 55th minute, following the expulsion of their defender Abdelkabir Abqar. This gave Atletico a greater advantage to maintain their lead until the final whistle.

With this victory, Atlético Madrid raised their tally to 57 points, continuing to hold the third position in the standings, while Getafe's tally remained at 35 points in ninth place.
