Saturday 14-03-2026
The Asian Football Confederation has settled on announcing its final decision regarding the dates for the knockout stage matches of the AFC Champions League Elite and AFC Champions League 2. This announcement will be made next week following the end of the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The continental federation had earlier decided to postpone the Round of 16 matches of the AFC Champions League for the elite, along with the quarter-final matches of the AFC Champions League 2, due to the current situation in the Middle East.

According to "Al-Riyadiyah" newspaper, the Asian Football Confederation has not yet issued an official decision regarding the new dates, but it is currently coordinating with the federations of the qualified clubs to finalize this matter in the coming days.

The Asian Football Confederation held a virtual meeting with representatives of the clubs that qualified for the Round of 16 of the elite tournament. However, the meeting did not result in reaching a final agreement to reschedule the round, which was initially set to take place on March 3.

The continental federation is expected to set the dates for the anticipated matches after the holiday, most notably the clash between Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal and Qatar's Al Sadd, Saudi Arabia's Al Ahli against Qatar's Al Duhail, as well as the match between Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad and UAE's Al Wahda, and the encounter between UAE's Shabab Al Ahli and Iran's Tractor in the AFC Champions League for the elite.

The anticipated matches in the AFC Champions League 2 also include the clash between Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr and the UAE's Al-Wasl, as well as the encounter between Qatar's Al-Ahli and Jordan's Al-Hussein Irbid.
