The Spanish Football Federation announced the refereeing team that will manage the matches on Saturday as part of the twenty-eighth round of the La Liga competition, including the anticipated clash between Real Madrid and Elche at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

According to the announcement, Jesús Gil Manzano will be the main referee for the match, while Daniel Jesús Trujillo will be responsible for the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology, in the match scheduled to take place at 10 PM Cairo time.

Gil Manzano returns to officiate matches this week after being frozen for the second time this season. Despite this, the Spanish referee has previously officiated a large number of Real Madrid matches in La Liga, having refereed 49 matches for the royal team in the competition.

During these matches, Real Madrid achieved 40 victories, 6 draws, and 3 losses. Gil Manzano also officiated two matches for the team this season in the league, where Real Madrid won against Real Sociedad 2-1, and against Athletic Bilbao 3-0.

The same referee previously managed a match between Real Madrid and Elche in the 2022/2023 season, which ended with a 3-0 victory for the royal team, and now returns after several years to lead a new match between the two teams.

On the other hand, Gil Manzano has officiated seven matches for Elche in La Liga, during which the team achieved one win, two draws, and four losses. This season, the referee has not managed any league matches for Elche, but he did officiate a match for them in the Copa del Rey, where the team lost 2-1 to Real Betis in the Round of 16.
