The journalist Amir Hesham revealed the stance of Al-Ahly's management in the event the red team exits the African Champions League.
Amir Hesham said on his Facebook account: "Reda Shehata is one of the top candidates to join Jes Torup's assistant team if Al Ahly exits the Champions League."
Al Ahly will face Tunisian side Esperance next Sunday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
The match will take place at 11:00 PM Cairo time.
