The journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed the draw system for the second phase of the Egyptian Premier League.

The Egyptian Clubs Association will conduct the draw for the second round of the 2025-2026 Egyptian Premier League this evening, Thursday, at the Marriott Zamalek Hotel.

Shobeir said on the "X" platform: "The four major teams according to the current standings, which are Zamalek, Pyramids, Al Ahly, and Ceramica Cleopatra, will all play their last two matches in the league, and none of them will receive a bye in the last two weeks, in order to achieve the principle of fairness and equal opportunities."

He added: "Direct confrontations will be calculated based on the results of the first and second rounds."

He continued: "There will be no seeded draw, meaning that we might witness direct clashes between major teams in the first two weeks."

He continued: "Al Ahly officially requested the appointment of foreign referees for their matches against Zamalek and Pyramids. The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association has informed the Egyptian Football Association of this request. The association also sent Al Ahly's official request to the Football Association. Incidentally, Al Ahly is the only team that has requested foreign referees."

He concluded: "The league of the top seven will end eight days before the relegation battle league, and the decisive league will start immediately after the international break, that is, from the first week of April."
