Liverpool Confirms Commitment to Florian Wirtz Despite Departure Reports
Thursday 12-03-2026
Press reports revealed on Thursday that Liverpool's management is not considering selling their German player Florian Wirtz at the end of the current season, despite rumors of some clubs wanting to sign him, most notably Real Madrid during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Wirtz joined Liverpool in a record deal worth 116 million pounds, coming from Bayer Leverkusen at the start of the current season.

Although the player has not shown the expected level in his first season with the English team, Liverpool officials affirm that Wirtz is a cornerstone in the club's new project and that he will be able to provide the required contribution in the coming seasons.

The report indicated that Liverpool's management trusts Wirtz's abilities and sees him as a candidate to compete for the Ballon d'Or in the future, considering that the adaptation period with the team is natural in the first and second seasons for the young player, and will not affect his position in the Reds' future plans.
