The Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" confirmed that Real Madrid has taken a strong step towards the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after defeating Manchester City 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, ahead of the second leg scheduled for March 17, 2026.

The newspaper explained that European history is on the side of the Royal Club, as Real Madrid has never been eliminated in continental tournaments after winning the first leg by a margin of three goals or more.
