The Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi made history in the UEFA Champions League by equaling the record held by former Ghanaian defender Samuel Kuffour, becoming the African defender with the most appearances in the tournament, with a total of 72 matches.

This achievement came during his participation as a starter with Paris Saint-Germain in the match against Chelsea in the first leg of the round of 16 of the European competition.

Hakimi has played his Champions League matches with several prominent European clubs, most notably Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain, during which he scored 10 goals and provided 15 assists.

It is noted that Paris Saint-Germain won the match against Chelsea with a score of 5-2, and Hakimi was behind the decisive pass that led to his team's fifth goal.
