Asian Proposal for a Single Match between Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl
The Asian Football Confederation presented a new proposal regarding the match between Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr and the UAE's Al-Wasl in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League.
The Asian Football Confederation had earlier announced the postponement of the first-leg matches of the quarter-finals of the tournament to a later date, due to the current situation in the Middle East.
According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the new proposal stipulates that the match between Al-Nassr and Al-Wasl will be held as a single game instead of the usual home-and-away system.
The match is expected to take place in mid-April next year, as one of the options being considered by the Asian Football Confederation for organizing the next round of matches following the postponement decision.
This proposal is still under review within the corridors of the Asian Football Confederation before a final decision is made and officially communicated to the concerned clubs and associations in the coming period.
