Thrilling Comeback Leads Wydad to a Dramatic Victory Over Ittihad Touarga
Wydad Athletic Club achieved an exciting victory over its host, Ittihad Touarga, with a score of 4-3 in the match that brought the two teams together on Sunday evening at the City Stadium in Rabat, as part of the fifteenth round of the Inwi Professional Championship.
Union Touarga entered the match strongly, finishing the first half ahead with a score of 2-1, after Mohamed Al-Sahil and Nasser Mustaghfir scored for the team in the 14th and 16th minutes, while Wissam Ben Yedder reduced the deficit for Wydad in the 43rd minute.
In the second half, the home team added a third goal through Fouad Al-Zahwani in the 55th minute, before Wydad managed to reduce the deficit again with Walid Al-Sabbar's powerful shot from outside the penalty area in the 78th minute.
In the 83rd minute, Wydad player Walid Nassi was sent off, leaving the team to play the final minutes with ten players.
Despite being outnumbered, Wydad managed to turn the result around in injury time, with Hamza El Hanouri scoring the equalizer in the 90+4 minute, followed by Salah Mosaddek adding the winning goal in the 90+6 minute.
With this victory, Wydad raised its tally to 29 points in second place, while Ittihad Touarga remained at 9 points in fourteenth place.
